The Kingdom Of Heaven is Advancing...so will violence.

I was talking with some friends tonight and someone mentioned Matt. 11:12, a verse that I used to think alot upon several years ago.  It made me think on it again. Matt 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

"The Kingdom of God will be the recipient of slings and arrows and wars and temptations, and its own people will need to be violent in return. He means "forceful." It will take a titanic struggle to enter it because so many things are acting against us. Jesus warns us it will not be easy. We are going to have to work vigorously and "violently" at times, to force ourselves to do what is right, because the Kingdom of God is now under siege in so many ways. Therefore, we have to fight as warriors in battle and violently engage the enemy." Richard T. Ritenbaugh

I must never forget this.  I must not sit idlely and call that rest, but I must rest vigorously as well as work/fight vigorously for the Kingdom.  There's no question about it, the Kingdom of God is advancing and we are warriors in this Kingdom saved by Grace alone.  As warriors we must fight for intimacy with Jesus, as well as fight for the salvation of our neighbor or family member.  We have too.  We must.  Jesus words were always full of power and action.  His words mean alot here, they call me to push through, to keep going after it, to take this neighborhood for Jesus, to ask him for more faith to pray for the bigger things and believe.  And then step outside and go.

His Kingdom is advancing and violence will happen, and we are the violent ones - taking back, with prayer (force) the territories the enemy has stolen, they are our inheritance, not his!
